If you are like me, you have a to-do list for your to-do list. Not to mention at least ten sticky notes on your desk at any given time. You are working on multiple projects at the same time, constantly emailing co-workers for updates, and frantically trying to meet a deadline. As much as I like to be organized, usually I’m not.

One possible solution…DeskAway.

Upon learning of DeskAway I thought, “What a nice idea, but I do not have the time to learn something new.” To my surprise, DeskAway is very simple to understand and implement. Within a matter of an hour, I was completely set up, had three projects entered and was ready to go.

Based in India, DeskAway offers an outstanding project management solution with simplicity. DeskAway is web based so there are no downloads on your computer and you can access your work from any computer at any time. Figure 1 shows the sample DeskAway Dashboard.

DeskAway allows you to assign and track tasks to your team so that everyone knows what needs to be done and deadlines are not missed. In Figure 2, you can see a sample DeskAway Task List. With one central location, all project files can be stored to prevent duplication and loss of files, as well as no missing emails.

DeskAway even has a permission control feature which allow the Project Manager to assign certain tasks to be viewed by all team members and keep other tasks private. Further, consolidated reports can be generated to ensure progress on the project.

By utilizing the tasks and milestone features, your projects can be handled much more efficiently. The file management feature allows documents to be uploaded and stored directly on DeskAway which is accessible to all team members.

All tasks and updates are posted in real-time in order to keep all team members updated on the progress. As you can see, DeskAway can be an effective tool to manage tasks, document control, communication, and ultimate productivity.

At the time this article was written, DeskAway was offering a free, unlimited subscription for up to three projects. In Figure 3, you can see a sample DeskAway Project List. The free subscription allows you the opportunity to use the product on a few different projects to see if it meets your needs.

Once you find that you like the product, you can upgrade at any time. The charges for the product are reasonable for what it offers. There are several subscription plans to fit your project needs.
